384La classification des alliés du Pakistan se fait donc selon les termes de la météorologie. Les USA sont classés “alliés par beau temps”, la Chine est “un allié par tous les temps” et sans aucun doute le premier d’entre tous... La classification a été mise en évidence lors de la visite du Premier ministre pakistanais en Chine, par son ministre de la défense qui l’accompagnait. Le même ministre a précisé qu’il voudrait que la Chine participât à la construction d’une grande base navale pakistanaise, dans le port de Gwader, sur la mer d’Arabie (port dont la construction a été assurée à 75% par la Chine). D’autres coopérations concernent les livraisons d’armes et les centrales nucléaires…
Le rapprochement entre la Chine et le Pakistan a pris une importance et un rythme très rapides depuis la liquidation de ben Laden et des tensions renouvelées entre le Pakistan et les USA. Cette coopération stratégique et militaire entre les deux pays en est un signe extrêmement significatif. Désormais, il apparaît que la réponse du Pakistan aux pressions US se trouve dans l’alliance chinoise. En même temps, cette orientation inquiète l’Inde, qui réagirait plutôt en renforçant son propre potentiel militaire qu’en renforçant ses liens avec Washington, pour ne pas compromettre une amélioration récente de ses rapports avec la Chine… (Dépêche AFP, relayée par SpaceWar.com, le 22 mai 2011.)
