498Première remarque, préliminaire si l’on veut : Ron Paul est increvable. On ne l’a jamais autant entendu que depuis qu’il a cessé toute activité parlementaire, et donc politique supposait-on. Depuis que PRISM/NSA/Snowdon a éclaté, l’ancien député du Texas est sur tous les fronts, démolissant impitoyablement la narrative de la NSA, toujours sur la défensive face aux révélations de Snowdon sur le programme PRISM. Observons également, autre signe des temps, que Ron Paul trouve partout des médias pour recueillir ses analyses.
Sur Fox.News (transcription des extraits de son intervention par Infowars.com, de Steve Watson, ce 19 juin 2013), Paul attaque les dernières déclarations du chef de la NSA, le général Alexander, selon lesquelles le programme PRISM et le reste ont réussi à empêcher autour de 50 projets d’attaques terroristes contre les USA. Paul juge cette affirmation absolument mensongère, puis il poursuit en décortiquant la logique-Système que la NSA déploie pour justifier sa gigantesque action d’écoute et de surveillance. Surtout, il met en évidence la complète inversion du propos, qui est de plaider que la radicale violation des droits civiques est nécessaire pour protéger les droits civiques, comme il est nécessaire de complètement violer la Constitution pour protéger la Constitution. Paul a une analogie particulièrement pertinente : “C’est comme la vieille histoire (du Vietnam) sur la nécessité de brûler le village pour sauver le village. Ils veulent brûler la Constitution pour sauver la Constitution”.

»“If we can go to war and do all these other things and throw the constitution out the window so casually, you better be sure if you give them an inch, they’re going to take a mile and paint themselves as heroes,” Paul added. “The one thing they don’t do is ever ask the motivation for people wanting to kill us. If we don’t ask that question we can’t stop these problems by just taking more liberties away from the American people. We’re going in the opposite way.”
